3 popular Wordpress plugins & their Webflow alternatives

Ever asked yourself if the features of some of your favourite Wordpress were available within Webflow? I've answered this question for 3 popular plugins in this blog post. Enjoy!

Most Wordpress users have a variety of plugins they install to enable different features on their own or their client's website. However, certain plugins seem to be used again and again on many Webflow sites. In this blog article I'd like to pick out 3 popular Wordpress plugins and introduce their counterparts in Webflow. To be clear, there are no plugins as such in Webflow (which is a great thing if you ask me), but many functionalities plugins offer can be replicated natively directly within Webflow or achieved via an external services or online tool.

Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is a super-popular plugin for adjusting the SEO (search engine optimisation) settings on your Wordpress site. However: Keep in mind, you won't land on page one of Google just by using a plugin like Yoast. Yoast is great for saving you some time by integrating things like keyword research, redirecting URLs or measuring the readability score of text on your website However most of these things can be done easily (often even for free) with other tools or sometimes even within Webflow. If you are interested in this topic, watch this space, as I am about to write a more in-depth article on how Yoast's functionality can be replicated in Webflow. In the meantime, if you want to read more about SEO in Webflow, go ahead and check out Webflow's own article on their blog.

Jetpack

Jetpack Security is a plugin for Wordpress that offers users the opportunity to backup their site, scans for site vulnerabilities. It also provides some protection against span in comments and forms. To be blunt, running site backups or scanning your site for threats is just not something the Webflow user needs to do. This is already done by Webflow and when it comes to site backups, users can easily go back to previous backups with the click of a button - directly from within Webflow. Also, while Webflow might not have a special anti-spam filter, users can enable Google's reCAPTCHA service for their forms when they host their site with Webflow.

WPML

This Wordpress plugin allows you to create multi-lingual websites within Wordpress. Having the plugin installed on your site, allows site visitors to change the language of your website according to their needs. While this functionality is not available natively within Webflow, you can use a tool such as Weglot, to get a similar outcome. The tool can easily integrated within Webflow and a tutorial on how to do this can be found on their website as well.

Hope this helped you in case you were wondering if the features of some of your favourite plugins are available in Webflow. Keep an eye out for a more in-depth article on Yoast's features within Webflow.
